WHAT IS SCAR TREATMENT?
Scar treatment is done to diminish thick, visible, raised scars on the body that are often a result of surgery. At the Weston Center for Plastic Surgery, we use the embrace® laser, which is a patented technology that directly treats the root cause of scarring by relieving tension and providing hydration to the scar tissue.
WHY CONSIDER EMBRACE® SCAR TREATMENT?
Scar treatment with the embrace® laser technology can effectively reduce the appearance of scars that result from surgery. When used in conjunction with a surgical procedure, scar formation can be proactively prevented. If you are considering surgery or have recently had surgery performed, you may consider embrace® scar treatment.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM EMBRACE® SCAR TREATMENT?
At the Weston Center for Plastic Surgery, we use EXPAREL® to minimize any pain that the patient experiences. EXPAREL® starts preventing post-surgical pain before you wake up from surgery. When combined with embrace® laser treatment, you can expect a near-painless scar treatment experience.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS FROM MY EMBRACE® SCAR TREATMENT?
Results from treatment will vary depending on the size and severity of your scar. In some cases, the Embrace® applicator will need to be worn for several weeks in order to deliver the best results. The treatment begins to work immediately, but the most noticeable results can be seen at the end of treatment.
