Facelift

If you’re unhappy with the face you see in the mirror, it could be that a facelift or a liquid facelift is the answer. But how do you know which procedure is right for you? Well, the type of procedure that’s best for you depends on your desired outcome, the longevity of results and differences in recovery time. It’s up to you to weigh the options and come to the decision that’s best for you.

Facelift or Liquid Facelift: What’s the Difference?

facelift is a surgical procedure that requires anesthesia. During the procedure, incisions are made along the hairline at the temple to the area behind the ear. Then the skin is lifted, which helps to correct loose neck skin, jowls (loose skin along the jawline), or sagging cheek skin.

A liquid facelift, on the other hand, requires no surgery. It is a relatively quick procedure. The facial plastic surgeon uses fillers to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or to add volume to sunken areas like the cheeks. This procedure will not address loose or sagging skin like a facelift will.

How Long Will the Results Last?

Again, both procedures are different. The results of facelift surgery are long-lasting. For most patients, you will enjoy the results of your facelift for about 10 years. The longevity of your individual results will depend upon your rate of aging and your skin type.

Unlike a facelift, a liquid facelift is a temporary procedure. Different types of dermal fillers and injectables are used for a liquid facelift, and each one has its own lifespan. On average, plan to go back for touch ups about once a year.

What Is the Recovery Time?

A liquid facelift requires very little recovery time. In fact, after this quick procedure, you can return to your normal routine immediately with no downtime.

A facelift is a surgical procedure, and as such it requires more substantial recovery time. You will need to wait about two weeks before you can go back to work. Your stitches will be removed after one week. You can expect the swelling and bruising to last for about two weeks.
